Our bylaws set out the rules for how our local democratically elects our representatives, and how it is run.
The revised bylaws will be posted here as soon as they have been addressed by the trustees.
Benefits
Benefits for CUPE 4797 members are bargained in the collective agreement and are provided through Manulife. If you feel you have been unreasonably denied payment for benefits, talk to your steward or a member of the executive.
Pensions & Retirement
Pensions for CUPE 4797 members are bargained in the collective agreement and provided through the MEPP pension plan. If you have questions or concerns about your pension rights and can't get a good answer from the employer, talk to a member of the executive.
Retirement Gratuity
The Board believes that it is important to recognize those employees who retire each year
from the Northwest School Division. In an effort to show appreciation for the time
commitment and dedication to their chosen profession through the years, the Board has
established a retirement gratuity model for all school division employees.
Procedures
1. Non-Teaching Employees
A $1000.00 gratuity will be dispersed, through an application process, to a retiring
employee if they meet the following three (3) criteria:
1.1 must have completed a minimum of ten (10) years of continuous service with the
Northwest School Division (or legacy school divisions),
1.2 be a minimum of fifty (50) years of age and,
1.3 have resigned from their position with the Northwest School Division.
